Announcing Andrew* as our latest lottery prize home winner. He joined our Champion Club membership in December last year to generously support Surf Life Saving, as one of his chosen three charities to support.

At first surprised, the busy semi-retired 70 year old gentleman had an exciting phone call to process that he is now an overnight multi-millionaire.

Speaking with our Operations Specialist, Amanda assured him that from the draw this morning, the name on the winning ticket is certainly yours! The entire team at Surf Life Saving erupted into applause to congratulate Andrew*

“I can’t wait for my wife to get home from work to tell her, she’ll be so shocked. I don’t know whether to scream or cry. What does a 70 year old man do?”

Heartwarming to hear how this life-changing win and news will mean this family will finally be able to have their dream home and retire! “It means everything you know” After losing their house some years ago, renting since and about to renew a six-month lease on their current rental. “It probably also means my wife can give up work”

Deciding to get behind Surf Life Saving was natural, given his history with the organisation. Andrew* was an active part of Main Beach Surf Life Saving Club in 1968 and 1969, participating in beach patrols, mentoring, sportsmanship and everything involved.

“It's just a fantastic cause. I just have a lot of admiration for the Surf Life Savers, for what they do. You know, the contributions they make.”
