Nth Burleigh SLSC started in 1949 & recently celebrated its 70-year anniversary. It is located on the Gold Coast in QLD and supports over 500 Nippers ranging in age from U6 through to U15. The club is the reigning Australian and Queensland youth champions and provides a pathway for Gold Coast kids to challenge themselves and learn critical surf safety skills for future life. In addition to this in 2014 the club formed a program for Special Needs Children to participate in Surf Lifesaving; learn water safety; beach skills & activities & make every opportunity available, to participate. This continues to thrive as well. Our club motto “PRIDE” focuses on; Participation, Respect, Inclusiveness, Development, and Enthusiasm. All funding and grants are used in the following ways; Providing greater access to youth camps, Purchase of equipment that supports; Ongoing running of the various junior programs (Boards / Rescue Devices, etc) and Training courses for our older kids training to get their bronze medallions and become part of the volunteer patrolling members of the club (Resus dummies/training equipment).
